Job Description
We are looking for engineers who want to make a lasting impact on our enterprise-grade database offerings for VMWare Tanzu Greenplum. Greenplum is designed to run anywhere on premise, public and private clouds, and in modern virtualized environments. Be part of a world-class database development team, participating in the design and development of a next generation MPP shared nothing open source database.Skills / Experience
Deep, meaningful and recent development experience with one or more of the following is desired:
Comfortable in shell scripts and a programming language like Go or Python.
Enjoys writing utilities and automating processes to streamline development
Experience managing software continuous integration and deployment tool suites, such as Concourse, Circle CI, Jenkins, etc
Experience dealing with large complex build pipelines built on virtualized/containerized infrastructure
Strong communication skills and ability to work as a collaborative member of a team servicing a global R&D organization
Other skills and experiences we value:
A good understanding of databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL
Experience working with Kubernetes and other container orchestration systems
Experience with a variety of build / package management / dependency management tools for C/C++ and Java (e.g. Make, Ant, Maven, Ivy, Artifactory etc.)
Exposure to pair-programming, test-driven development, continuous integration and other agile or XP engineering practices
Experience with distributed systems.
Operations or Systems Administration experience, particularly on Linux.
Knowledge of key features of Cloud Service Providers
